Catherine J. Geronimo
Bio
Catherine J. Geronimo studied art from the time she was a child, having had an art teacher for a mother!  There was a rich appreciation for the arts in her home with always a project in the works.
Catherine attended the Tam O'Shanter art classes at the Carnegie Museum as a high school student and design at the Carnegie Mellon University.  She graduated from Edinboro University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1977.  She also attended Alfred University for a brief time studying printmaking. After marrying and moving to Denver, Colorado, she began a 18 year long career as a jeweler/wax artist.  Her clients and co-workers spanned an area from Denver to Aspen, where she enjoyed a small business for jewelry repair and custom designs.  Her art expressions were utilized for business ventures, creating logos, designing menus for her husband's restaurant, and mural painting.  She had a painting juried into the Pirate Art Gallery, a fun, bohemian eclectic gallery in Denver.
Now, home is back in Pittsburgh, where she is a member of the West Hills Art League and reconnecting with the foundations of art education in this area that first excited her to put the pen to paper, or paint to canvas!
"When the brush touches the canvas, the soul has a voice.  If only everyone could speak with such truth."
